Interschool Update - 2022 Hygain State Championships

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on IQ events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships, please find the information listed below under each discipline heading. This information was also emailed out to junior members on 17 May 2022.

Jumping 

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on IQ events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the JUMPING qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships.

The following will only apply if you are unable to meet the requirements already set out in the 2022 IQ Handbook and have been revised as follows:

• Two (2) clear jumping rounds (0 faults) at the level that you wish to participate

• These two jumping rounds will need to come from separate IQ events since 7 June 2021 (one score from the 2021 State Championships can be used, one round can be from an IQ Tag-on event)*

• If the above revised qualification requirements apply to you, a Special Consideration request will need to be completed and lodged by 12pm 30 May

• As part of the special consideration request you will need to supply evidence of nomination for an IQ qualification event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation

*if in the event of not having any qualifying scores from an IQ event, the IQ committee will consider two (2) scores from an EA Competitive jumping event however the same conditions apply (as below).

A Special Consideration request will need to be submitted with evidence of nomination for an IQ event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation.

Meeting the reduced qualification requirements and submitting a special consideration request does not mean that your entry has been accepted, it means that it will be reviewed along with all other entries and special consideration requests. You will receive notification via email regarding the outcome, your entry may still be subject to balloting. Please refer to the 2022 IQ Handbook regarding the balloting of entries for jumping.

Dressage

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on IQ events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the DRESSAGE qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships.

The following will only apply if you are unable to meet the requirements already set out in the 2022 IQ Handbook and have been revised as follows:

• Two (2) qualifying dressage scores at the level that you wish to participate

• These two dressage scores will need to come from at least one (1) IQ event since 7 June 2021 (one score from the 2021 State Championships can be used)*

• If the above revised qualification requirements apply to you, a Special Consideration request will need to be completed and lodged by 12pm 30 May

• As part of the Special Consideration request you will need to supply evidence of nomination for an IQ qualification event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation

*if in the event of not having any qualifying scores from an IQ event, the IQ committee will consider two (2) scores from an EA Competitive dressage event however the same conditions apply (as below).

Show Horse

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the SHOW HORSE qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships.

The following will apply if you are unable to meet the requirements already set out in the 2022 IQ Handbook and have been revised as follows:

• Participation or evidence of nomination at one (1) Show Horse IQ event since 3 July 2021 or

• Participation at one (1) EQ Show Horse event since 1 January 2022

• If the above revised qualification requirements apply to you, a Special Consideration request will need to be completed and lodged by 12pm 30 May

• As part of the Special Consideration request you will need to supply evidence of nomination for an IQ qualification event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation

Combined Training

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the COMBINED TRAINING qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships.

The following will only apply if you are unable to meet the requirements already set out in the 2022 IQ Handbook and have been revised as follows:

• 1 individual dressage and 1 individual jumping qualifying score (as per CT requirements in the 2022 IQ Handbook) from an IQ event at the level that you wish to participate*

• These scores must be obtained from IQ event/s after 3 July 2021

• Cannot use Eventing results as SJ is scored differently

• If the above revised qualification requirements apply to you, a Special Consideration request will need to be completed and lodged by 12pm 30 May

• As part of the Special Consideration request you will need to supply evidence of nomination for an IQ qualification event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation

* If neither of these options are available then proof of nominations for an IQ CT event must be presented to prove intent to ride at an IQ event that had been cancelled.

Eventing

Due to the impact of weather and COVID-19 on events in 2022, the IQ committee has revised the EVENTING qualification requirements for the 2022 Hygain Interschool Qld State Championships.

The following will only apply if you are unable to meet the requirements already set out in the 2022 IQ Handbook and have been revised as follows:

• 1 qualifier needed as per A qualifier in 2022 IQ Handbook (cannot include 2021 State Championships)

• Horse/rider combination are expected to compete at the highest height qualified within the qualifying period

• If the above revised qualification requirements apply to you, a Special Consideration request will need to be completed and lodged by 12pm 21 June

• As part of the Special Consideration request you will need to supply evidence of nomination for an IQ qualification event of which you were unable to attend due to COVID-19 or weather as well as any other relevant supporting documentation
