Success for the Mighty Maroons at the 2022 AIC

Having had two years without the Australian Interschool Championships (Interschool Nationals) due to COVID-19 restrictions it was great to finally be able to gather in one place make friends and compete against the best of the best in Interschool, with 84 Queensland riders and thier 96 horses making the trip to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre to compete in Dressage, Jumping, Combined Training, Show Horse and Eventing at the pinnacle event for interschool participants.

Queensland team members demonstrated skill, determination, passion, and team spirit during the competition (and the long journey to Sydney and home again!). The Queensland team were regularly highlighted by other parents and event organisers about the commitment to their sport and their willingness to help out at the event. Culminating in Queensland winning the Spirit Award again in 2022 (back to back from 2019)!

Queensland had some great results over the 4 days of competition, being placed:

  • 3rd in both the Primary and Secondary Team in Show Horse
  • Reserve Champions Primary and Secondary Team in Combined Training
  • 3rd Team in Eventing
  • Champion Primary and Secondary Team in Dressage
  • Reserve Champion Primary and Secondary Team in Jumping.
